The HealthMate Junior by Austin Air Purifiers is the compact version of the HealthMate HM400. It is the ideal choice for someone wanting to reduce dust emissions as well as odours in a small room such as a bedroom or office. It is most popular for those with slight sensitivities to airborne particles and gasses and those who live in dusty environments. With a 200 CFM (cubic feet per minute) fan you can expect this air purifier to clean an average size bedroom in about 30 minutes. Starting from the outside you will notice that these machines are made of solid steel. The reason for this is Austin Air believes in using as little plastic as possible benefiting those who are sensitive to chemicals and off gassing that can occur from plastic and Styrofoam. The bodies are painted with a baked on powder coating to ensure that all chemicals and gasses are eliminated throughout the baking process. That way when you open the box you won't have to wait for your new air purifier to off-gas in your home. Even the rubber feet and plastic switch knob have been off-gassed in the factory before being installed. Within the HM200 HealthMate Junior is a unique filtration process that begins with 6.5 pounds of activated carbon and zeolite, which effectively absorbs foul odours and toxic gases. These fumes are generally too small for a regular filter to capture and most air purifiers use very little which greatly reduces their life span. With 6.5 pounds you can expect it to last 5 years and is even backed by a 5 year warranty. The particles that are left in the air are then captured by the 30 square meters of HEPA media, which traps 99.97% of all particles that are 0.3 microns in size or larger. You can now experience air without foul odours, VOC's (volatile organic compounds), allergens, pollen, dust and just about anything that can irritate the average person.
