The HealthMate Plus + Junior by Austin Air Purifiers is the compact version of the HealthMate Plus HM450. Inside is a unique filtration process that begins with 6.5 pounds of activated carbon and zeolite, which effectively absorbs foul odours and toxic gases. But it doesn't stop there; the activated carbon is impregnated with Potassium Iodide. This mineral combined with the activated carbon and zeolite, delivering greater capacity for removal of chemical gases, or Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs), thus improving relief for people for the severely chemical sensitive and effectiveness in highly contaminated air spaces. It is recommended for people who have heavy air quality problems and those that are chemical sensitive. With 6.5 pounds you can expect it to last 5 years and is even backed by a 5 year warranty. The particles that are left in the air are then captured by the 30 square meters of HEPA media, which traps 99.97% of all particles that are 0.3 microns in size or larger.
The Junior HealthMate Plus + by Austin Air Purifiers is made for people who are severely sensitive to chemicals and gases. With a 200 CFM (cubic feet per minute) fan you can expect this air purifier to clean an average size bedroom in about 30 minutes. Starting from the outside you will notice that these machines are made of solid steel. The reason for this is Austin Air believes in using as little plastic as possible benefiting those who are sensitive to chemicals and off gassing that can occur from plastic and Styrofoam. The bodies are painted with a baked on powder coating to ensure that all chemicals and gasses are eliminated throughout the baking process. That way when you open the box you won't have to wait for your new air purifier to off-gas in your home. Even the casters and switch knob have been off-gassed in the factory before being installed.
