Miele Complete C3 Cat and Dog Canister Vacuum Cleaner

Previously I had used vacuums I would purchase second hand and use these devices until it would die. When we adopted my moms two cats I realized how much work it would be maintaining our house and keeping the cat hair and dander to a minimum. On average a used vacuum might last about 6-8 months between the constant cleaning of hair from the power head and also emptying a open dust tray and washing out the filter. I decided to replace our vacuum once it bit the dust. I have always had asthma and other respiratory issues and I would notice the difference in and out of the house. I have a family friend with over 5 Miele vacuums in her family and she strongly recommended this brand for the quality and the benefits I would experience from the closed system design. Already after a week my wife can see and feel the benefits in the purchase, and I commonly hear and read this could be a vacuum that lasts several decades. Thank you.

This is a wonderful vacuum. We've had this for 3 years now and it rarely gets out away. We have a 3.5 year old and 6 year old now (6 mth - 3 yr old when purchased) that climb/stand on it/take out the accessories all the time. We just had to replace the wand as either myself or my husband tripped over it/stepped on it and broke the plastic piece that releases it from the hose - totally our fault. There had been no issues with it prior to that. It seems to do a great job on the floors and we have 2 cats and a 110 lb dog that all shed. Any vacuum that is still trucking after dealing with small kids, big dog and is normally left out in high traffic areas is a sturdy and dependable machine. I think the only thing that hasn't happened to it is fall down the stairs and it's still in great shape!

I waited 3 years to give my review. I had three dogs(one being a Golden retriever) when i purchased my S8 Dog & cat(now called C3) in 2015, and I also am a professional pet groomer and bring my dirty towels home to wash. So between the hair on me, the dogs and the towels we packed home a lot of hair, and dirt. My vaccum gets a lot of use and works like brand new. *my trick is i drip a few drops of essential oil INTO vaccum bag(peppermint usually) then your air smells lovely after you have vaccumed. Features i LOVE about are -how the head swivels so you can go under all the furniture to get the golden dust bunnys, -the slots built in to attach your nozzle to the side or back of vaccum so that it doesnt flop over. -the adjustable strength for scared pets, or thin carpets or curtains -how easily the power nozzle comes apart for cleaning my long hair and my dogs hair out of it -the power nozzle picks up the fibres on my long plush area rugs and deep cleans it beautifully. -how the bags are so clean to remove and last months and months even though i am vaccuming up destuffed toy bits -how the hepa filters and built in filters remove all the dust and keep my house much cleaner. -how it has built in storage for extra tools, -how the wand adjusts shorter for storage, i dont hav emuch space, and it neatly sits out of th eway. in the past I had Dyson, built in and shop vac for comparison. Miele beats them all hands down. McHardy Vaccum has been great to deal with!

Quiet and easy to use. I was very impressed with the whole process of ordering online and having it arrive so quickly here in Canada. I am hoping that for this senior, it will be my last vacuum!

This is a great vacuum cleaner in many respects... good suction, very quiet, ergonomic design. But it is also very fragile and not reliable. On mine, the telescopic wand came apart ($180 replacement). The accessory door is also flimsy and fell apart but I was able to reassemble it. If you have a professional cleaning lady who uses this vacuum it will fall apart faster. This unit will not tolerate rough handling. Problems started after about two years of light use. I am not sure how long it will be before the motor burns out, but based on how cheaply the other parts are made I am not holding my breath. Bags and replacement parts are expensive. I understand why this unit enjoys such a high rating. But, of course, few people wait 2 or 3 years before reviewing the product. If they did the reviews would factor in product durability, and therefore the rating would be much lower. McHardy's Response: Thank you for you your feedback on the product! We appreciate your insight. Like most electronic devices the Miele vacuums don't do very well with rough handling. However, they are made to high standards and are designed to withstand normal household use. The Miele vacuums do have a 7 year warranty on the motor and a 5 year warranty on everything else. If you take the wand to an authorized Miele repair centre and they determined the damage was caused by a manufactures defect, and not misuse, the wand would have been replaced at no charge to you. We highly recommend taking the unit to a repair centre if anything happens to the machine within this time as Miele stands behind their products and warranties.

Great vacuum! Super suction and very quiet. What more can you ask of a vacuum? It appears to be designed and made well. It is too early to evaluate the filtering ability. 10 out of 10

I was hesitant about spending so much on a vacuum but I'm so happy I did! The Miele C3 Cat and Dog is the most powerful vacuum I have ever owned. I can't believe the suction on this thing, it's amazing! My Kenmore canister vac broke down after 8 years and I was in the market for another one but when I saw how cheaply made the new ones are, I decided to look for a quality machine. That's when I discovered Miele and there's no looking back now. I love the variable suction controls and the parquet floor twister is so versatile! The electrobrush is ridiculously powerful! It does an excellent job at removing cat hair. I thought my old vacuum did a good job but the level of clean that I get from my new Miele has proved me wrong. Thank you McHardy Vacuum for such excellent service! The shipping was super fast and my order was packaged with such care. It's nice to see that there are still some great businesses out there that offer exceptional customer service. I live in Montreal so I saved on the QST which was another plus. Thanks again McHardy! This new vacuum was replacing an old (20+ year Electrolux) so I was expecting it with great anticipation. Delivery went by so fast! Great service from McHardy - you wont regret your choice if you buy from them. I've been checking prices for the past year and they are always the lowest. The Miele vacuum has great power, is very handy, much lighter and silent than what I am used to. All in all, a great buy! And a tip, for all of you Quebec consumer - there is no QST!

Right when I got the vacuum the air got better and it really picked up the dirt...I would recommend this anytime....

I have to say that I absolutely love this vacuum as it's one beauty of a machine. I was amazed the first time I used it. I do have some health issues so lugging around a heavy vacuum isn't fun but this vacuum answers all my needs. It's light enough for me to handle easily, powerful yet quiet (nice bonus) handles beautifully and I love the power brush. That thing just goes on its own. Such a pleasure. I didn't know just how nice a vacuum could be until I got this one. Plus, dealing with this company is a pleasure. I came across the website after doing some vacuum research, wondering who sold Miele in my neck of the woods. I didn't think it would be as easy as it turned out to be. Thank you McHardy Vacuum!
