Excellent machine
Its been about a month since we bought the C2 Cat and dog vacuum and it has been a great change. Suction is strong. The machine is easy to carry around. Really loving the change. The bonus was buying it from McHardy. Great customer service. Answered all my questions without any pressure to buy. Even got a thank you card with my purchase.
I have owned and used this for a month - we have an 1900 square foot home with small rooms - this vacuum is okay. Not as incredible as I was expecting considering the reviews.
Pros:
Stores easily due to smaller size.
Parquet brush is great - nice and wide and soft touch on the hardwoods
No plastic or chemical smell emitted - I had to return my Kenmore because the smell it emitted after vacuuming made both myself and my 10 year old feel sick.
I like optional HEPA filter
Shipping and customer service from McHardy's is excellent- SO fast.
Cons:
Power brush definitely takes some work moving back and forth. Would not recommend this for elderly or anyone who has back or weakness issues.
Neither power brush nor parquet brush are great at picking dirt/dust up along the side of the brush as you vacuum alongside a wall, etc. Kenmore was superior at this.
I don't like how additional tools aren't stored inside - thought this would be okay but it's somewhat annoying -
Power head cord is somewhat awkward to plug in and out of vacuum due to it's location.
Power on and off button is on vacuum itself - I prefer it to be on handle, like the Kenmore. I would never have thought of this when purchasing. If I am vacuuming stairs and run out of hose, I can't just turn it off - I have to walk back up or down to where my vacuum is. Or if something gets sucked up or caught, you can't turn it off immediately. Or if you want to just quickly turn it off to move something then you have to walk back to your vacuum to turn it off. Would definitely recommend changing this feature.
My daughter has longer hair and every time I vacuum I have to cut these and pull them off of the power head as they are wrapped around and around and start to build up. I rarely had to do this with my previous Kenmore.
Overall I would consider this vacuum again due to small size, lack of smell and suction power - but it's not the wonder vacuum I thought it might be.

Thank you for taking the time to post your review and experience with the Miele C2 Cat and Dog vacuum! We truly appreciate your comments. The points you have made about this machine are valid. We just wanted to mention that most of them could be overcome with the Complete C3 Line, especially the C3 PowerPlus (i.e. having on/off controls on the hose handle, internal storage of the tools, no cord to plug in, etc.). The C2 line is deigned to be compact / light weight so some of these features are omitted to reduce the overall weight and size.
As well, the powerhead can be hard to push if the suction on the machine is too high. The Miele vacuums are very powerful and can actually lift the carpet / rug off of the floor causing a suction cup effect. Using the 4th highest suction setting (the ear picture) when cleaning carpeting should reduce the resistance and actually clean better.
I just wanted to let you know I am very pleased with my Miele vacuum and the attachments. McHardy's was so easy to deal with and my vacuum arrived in record time. I was so happy with my purchase that my sister ordered a vacuum a few days later.
Amazing power in a tiny, very compact machine. I had a Kenmore vacuum with a beater bar for over 35 years and loved it. This machine is even more incredible. The Miele's beater bar is the best I've ever owned.
If I had to do it over again, I would probably have spent the extra money to get the larger model with the 4.5 litre bag and inside storage for the accessories. That's what my old vacuum had.
Go to a retail store to see the various models, then buy it here. McHardy's staff is very knowledgeable and if you're from out of province, you can save the Provincial sales tax.

The canister itself isn't heavy; but when you attach the hose and metal tube, it's not light anymore. Hooking the plug of the electrified hose is clunky, unsightly and interferes with opening the canister to change bags and filters.
The machine moves freely, has excellent (customizable) suction and exits hot air upwards where you're standing close to the machine.
This vacuum came quickly, set up quickly and runs so quietly. It has lots of power and well worth the money.
We have had this vacuum for a year now, finally changing the HEPA filter, which reminded me to come to the place I bought it. Its worth writing a review, because I have been very impressed.
This unit is lightweight, versatile and great on hardwood floor with the Parquet brush. MAKE SURE TO UPGRADE TO THE PARQUET if you are doing floors, its FAR superior to the crappy one that comes in the box(they should just make the parquet the standard!)
Would recommend this vacuum, and the people at McHardy vacuum. Given the great price and service we received, we will return to them for our Miele gear and have recommended them on more than one occasion. Its nice to deal with a Canadian dealer!!

Moving from a cheap vacuum to this as real vacuum was very pleasant. This is very light, very powerful, and I don't even use the power head as often as I would have expected (always used it on the old vacuum since it had such poor suction apparently).
We have a smaller sized house, back-split level, and mostly hardwood/tile, though we do have some area rugs throughout (one is shag), and low pile carpet in the bedrooms. This obviously does all the hardwood fine, but as I said it even seems to do a good enough job on our low-pile and area rugs without the powerhead (and with the powerhead it's fantastic on those). I just like not having to lug the powerhead up the stairs all the time.
I'd buy this one again, and most importantly the customer service here has been outsanding (some of the best in any industry that I've experienced).

After using this for about 5 months, I have to say its the best vacuum I've ever had. I have 2 cats and have never seen my floor cleaner.

I used to be a very big fan of Miele even when their vaccums weighed a ton. However I recently purchased the Miele S6 Dimension vaccum and was extremely disappointed with the fact that it does not come with a suction release valve. With the great suction this vaccum has you need some release even on the lowest dial. It's too bad as I would have recommended Miele to everyone.

Have a MieleS2 Airclean which is great on the hardwood but not for the rugs.
An older vacuum I have with a power head isn't much better and very noisy.
Thinking I could get a powerhead for the S2, after seeing the cost of head plus hose etc I decided I would be better off buying a new cleaner.
I spent a lot of time reading reviews and looking for best price when I found myself on McHardy's website.
Within a minute or so a chatbox popped up so I asked if it was possible to get the SBB-300 brush instead of the SBB235-3.
Graham answered, absolutely and was extremely helpful to me.
He advised me it would be an extra 10$, he also advised me to email Rebecca after I placed my order as she would be processing the order.
I mailed Rebecca and she was also very helpful.
I also received a card from Rebecca, which was a nice touch.

The S6 Dimension Plus is everything I hoped it would be, my rugs look fabulous again.
It is very quiet and has a longer cord than the A2 which is a huge bonus.
The SBB-300 brush is very manoeuverable, am very happy with it.
The McHardy staff were a pleasure doing business with and I would heartily recommend them.
Best vacuum I've ever owned/used.
It's small, and mobile. The handle (electric brush) is a bit heavy, but very effective since you only need to cover an area once.
You can tell this is a high quality built machine with everything fitting together perfectly and does not have that cheap feel like so many other vacuums.

Powerful, quiet, light and easy to get around with, love the adjustable power switch. It is just fun to vacuum your house with it. I also have got Miele SBB 300 Parquet Floor Brush, which is perfect for hardwood floors!

I have used other brands of v-cleaners for more than 20 years, for example one of them was a Panasonic 1800W. They were of more consumption of electricity but of much less power of cleaning; more noisy, less powerful. The Miele s6, only 1200w, is much stronger, of much better built quality, and works great with my wool carpets !
I will be a loyal brand lover of Miele !
Only had the new vacuum for a few days. My wife and I both like the machine - it is very quiet, and has good power.

I have used other canister vacuums, electric brooms and a central vac and this Miele vacuum is by far the best of the bunch. I has a lot of suction, manoeuvres easily and is quiet. It is well built. I have only one small complaint: I'd rather the on-board tools holder be either located elsewhere on the machine or redesigned to remain stationary regardless of the hose position. A minor detail really. Other than that the machine is nothing short of excellent.
I also found McHardy Vacuum staff to be very polite, informative and helpful. I highly recommend this company.
I purchased this vacuum and I am totally satisfied with it. It is lightweight and has great suction which is what I need as I have a black dog and beige carpet. The vacuum does a fantastic job to remove the dog hairs, I would certainly recommend buying a Miele. Exceptional service from McHardy
The vacuum cleaner works very well,seems to be well-built and is quiet but as it is the first one I have bought I have nothing to compare it to. The real reason I am going through the effort to post a review is because the service from McHardy was exceptional (both pre and post purchase).
I have wasted so much money on cheap vacuums, enought to carry easily up and down stairs, but did a good job on my hardwood floors. I finally decided that you get what you pay for, and decided to invest a little more in a quality vacuum. I purchased the Miele S6, and substituted the floor tool that came with this vacuum for the SBB Parquet floor tool. It arrived quickly, and has not disappointed me. The vacuum is so light, and the floor tool is exactly what I was looking for. The powerhead does a great job on my area rugs. I love the numerous suction settings, which allow you to choose the level that works best for the task. I highly recommend this vacuum.
This is an excellent vacuum. The suction power, the smoothness in handling, the low noise are all top grade. I upgraded the brushes in the package and I'm totally blown away how the full rotation of the heads allow me to get into every corner and under sofas and many other items without having to move them or as I did in the past, not clean in those areas except when I determined the build up of dust was too great that I had to make time to move furniture. I also want to say that McHardy service is far superior than anything I've experienced. Fully knowledgeable staff who truly make sure you have all the information to select the exact product you need and much more. I have told many friends about this great purchase and purchasing experience. Very unique in this day.
When I started doing my research for a new vacuum, I decided on a Miele.
Some less powerful models are available from Sears, and other local places, (Costco)
but McHardy Vacuum online store not only has an amazing inventory, but such detailed, consumer oriented information-It really made the choice easy for me.
I LOVE the Miele. It is a dream to vacuum with. Light enough to carry up and down stairs,
and quiet. But the most important part: my house has never been so clean.
I actually take the vacuum out and do spot vacuuming rather than view it as a chore that is saved for once a week.

Having gone to a major appliance store selling Miele and Dyson, we wanted to look and try the new S6 Momentum which had just arrived and was still in its shipping box.The salesman pointed us to a different display model and said it was the much the same as the S6 only slightly heavier and he did not open the box.Walked out,went immediately to the internet and hit upon McHardy, who offered to send us a few models to try. After talking to a very knowledgeable sales rep we settled on the S6 Momentum which was delivered 2 days later and we haven't looked back.

My Miele S6 Momentum Plus Canister Vacuum Cleaner is just great! Really find it useful for hardwood floors that get major traffic. It is nice and small for my apartment and very quiet. The bags seem to last forever!
